Casa do Norte is a rural house, constituting a
perfect example of the traditional architecture of the island of Santa
Maria.
This undertaking is a result of the restoration of one of the innumerable
typical houses, which can be found abandoned due to the migration that occurred
on the island in the middle of the last century.
Of a limited size (a studio), though offering all the necessary comfort
of our times, it is composed of an open-plan first floor comprised of
spaces for the kitchen, living room and bedroom (apart from the double
bed, there is a sofa that can be converted into two single beds).
The house has a vaulted wood oven, fully restored, with the typical round
chimney of the Algarve rising above it, denoting the influence of the
first colonisers of the island.
The lower floor, the old storeroom for the house, has been converted into
a spacious bathroom.
Casa do Norte is equipped with all the electrical
appliances necessary to facilitate your stay, such as a refrigerator,
microwave, washing machine, TV and CD player,
among others.
